Here is Monday's Morning Message for January 5, 2026,
from Brother Sam Scheib:
Good morning, Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Happy Monday and a
Happy New Year to you.
Today, I want to encourage you to refrain from sin. Our sin is killing us.
St. Paul tells us this in his letter to the Romans, chapter 6, verse 23:
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ, our LORD." Like a poison, sin creeps into our
lives and kills us spiritually. Without Jesus, it can separate us from Him
for eternity. We're all sinners; even to deny this truth is a sin. But we
must do our best to live as Jesus did and turn from sinful ways. A
good analogy of sin is cancer. Let's say a child gets cancer. The
child's father does not hate the child because of the cancer. Rather,
the father hates the cancer. Just like the LORD does not hate us for
sinning, He hates our sin which is poison that infiltrated His creation.
Jesus Christ is the only cure. Throughout this week, when faced with
temptation or sinful thoughts, remind yourself, "My sin is killing me!"
Refrain from sin and live as Jesus Christ lived.
Have a blessed week and an even better 2026!
Soli Deo Gloria!
